Last week, all employees at the Visimex Binh Duong Factory participated in a crucial 3-day training program on BRCGS 9 standards. The aim of this program was to enhance and solidify the team’s knowledge of international food safety standards, ensuring that product quality remains at the highest level.
BRCGS (Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards) is a widely recognized international food safety standard. The certification provides a global framework for managing food safety, integrity, compliance, and quality across the food sector, from food ingredients and manufacturing to processing and packaging.
Version 9 of the BRCGS standard brings significant improvements compared to the previous version. In particular, the new version focuses on important themes to ensure global applicability. The key enhancements include:
Incorporating assessment requirements from the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI 2020).
Specific requirements for implementing and complying with relevant legislation.
Detailed requirements for building a food safety culture.
Changes to the food safety plan section to align with Codex Alimentarius verification aspects.
Clear and detailed requirements for outsourcing of processing services.
Expanding requirements for Food Defense and Food Fraud Prevention.
Detailed requirements for food for animal production and animal feed production locations.
New content related to product categories of animal origin (e.g., red meat, poultry, or fish – such as slaughterhouses or fishing locations).
Mandatory unannounced checks every 3 years.
Reintroduction of the published combined assessment option for recertification, including remote assessment followed by on-site assessment.
After the training program with a wealth of valuable information, the Binh Duong Factory is determined to obtain this certification in the near future, aiming to become the most modern cashew manufacturing facility in the region.
